From a complete laymans’ point of view, I would think that the compressor should switch of at a preordained pressure. If it is not then there must be a short within its’ own circuits. As a short term fix, fitting a switch in the power feed to the compressor would allow some control.
Perhaps there is a leak which means the compressor never reaches the set pressure.

I have an LT35 with rear air suspension it’s a motorhome what should the air pressure be in it , its at 25 at the mo , and the rear looks
